Finding Calm Amid Freelance Chaos

Freelancing might not be for me.
I’m not good enough.
What if they hate the copy I write?
The competition is so stiff—what could I possibly bring to the table?

Yep, that’s me, telling myself all of the limiting beliefs that keep me from moving on and being forever stuck.

We’ve all been there—life throws curveballs, deadlines loom, self-doubt creeps in, and suddenly you’re spiraling. “Can I even do this?”

For a while, It felt like I was juggling 10 balls at once, and spoiler alert: I dropped them all. But through this chaos, I learned a thing or two about staying grounded—and not the “you’re-grounded-no-phone” kind.

When life felt like an endless storm, I found my calm in prayer. Sitting quietly, pouring out my fears and frustrations to Someone bigger than all this chaos—it became my anchor. Meditative prayer taught me how to pause, breathe, and find peace amid the noise.

That inner peace nudged me toward something even more powerful: self-belief. It wasn’t easy, but I started shifting my mindset. Instead of, “What if I fail?” I asked, “What if I succeed?” (Spoiler alert: I’m getting there.)

Another lifesaver? Investing in myself. I realized that instead of wallowing in doubt, I could channel my energy into growing. So, I enrolled in online courses, attended webinars, and sharpened my skills. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: God doesn’t give us dreams without the tools to achieve them. And as it turns out, those tools are often hiding in plain sight—we just need to pick them up.

Since embracing prayer, self-belief, and personal growth, I’ve felt lighter, calmer, and—dare I say it?—more in control of my life. I’ve come to see chaos as a reminder, not a punishment. A reminder to slow down, reflect, and realign.

These practices didn’t just help me survive the storm; they helped me thrive. I’m no longer that person who feels like freelancing is an unreachable dream. I’m someone who sees it as an opportunity to build, create, and carve out a life I love—even if it’s one step at a time.

Here’s the thing: Life will always have its chaotic moments. There will always be days when you feel like giving up, when everything feels too much. But remember, you are stronger than the storm.

Take a moment to pause. Pray. Breathe. Write down your goals and take one small step toward them. And if you mess up, it’s okay—just dust yourself off and keep going.

You’ve got this. Trust me, if I can weather the chaos and find my calm, so can you.
