The Beauty in the Everyday: My Daily Reflections

As a single mom, my day begins early in the wee hours of the morning…

I always start my day with prayers.

Since my awakening (the day I figured I no longer wanted to be taken advantage of) I discovered the inner peace and calmness that a moment of solitary prayer brings me. I do it before the sun rises. I feel that I can talk well with God during these times. Maybe it’s because of the thought that while others are still sleeping, God can hear me better because He is not yet busy — hearing His load of prayers from everybody else. LOL.  😁

And often in my prayers, I can feel God’s peace in my heart whenever I tell Him of my latest crazy ideas. Sometimes I feel He also slaps me in the back whenever I give in to moments of letting myself down or when I think negatively. You see, God for me has a weird sense of humor. I don’t know how to describe it, but He just does.  😅

Then the mundane list of to-dos as a mom overtakes my entire morning. Preparing my kids’ food and lunchboxes, sending them off to school,  and the like. Once they are in school will I only permit myself to eat breakfast and have that much-needed coffee.

As a budding copywriter, I do most of my writing in the morning after my coffee. I feel that I have fresh ideas and can focus well during these times. So please don’t bother me in the mornings. ✌️

Deep work also occupies my early afternoons right after lunch. Until it is time for me to fetch my kids again from school, so the endless tasks of being a mom to them suddenly overtakes any other task.

As my day comes to an end, is the only time I allot for personal activities such as writing personal blog entries, reading or catching up with my favorite K-dramas. I mean, since my discovery of self-love, It is always important for me to give ourselves time for things that makes as happy or things that nourishes the creativity in us. It keeps me sane.

What about you? How does your day look? Let me know in the comments below.

I hope you also give a part of your heart and your time in a day for the most important person in all the world – YOU!

Have a wonderful day or night ahead.
